Who is DPO?
The Personal Data Protection Officer (DPO) helps organizations to solve challenges with GDPR. The primary role of DPO is to ensure that organisations processes the personal data of employees, customers, providers, or any other individuals in compliance with the data protection rules. Also, DPO is responsible for educating employees and encouraging organizations on responsible handling of personal information. If data processing is more complex, or sensitive data is processed, it is more likely that the company will need a personal data protection officer.

Based on the General Data Protection Regulation, the GDPR Manager includes important components such as Consents Management, Data subjects Management (rights and requests), Data breach registry, Processing purposes, Processing activities, Identity risks and Risks assessments (DPIA), 360° Personal Data Tracking, Data map, Documentation, Access log (Audit), Data storages, Data forms, Data sharing, Internal policies, GDPR reports.
Is it more profitable to hire a DPO (Data Protection Officer) or a system rent / purchase?
Small businesses can hire DPOs as external associates and save money, but no matter if the organization is small, medium or large, in the initial stage all organizations will be affected by higher costs. Regarding the penalties that may occur, investing money into IT at the GDPR area is far more cost-effective. The organization should decide whether to implement a complete solution and invest in employee education and thus control the data management process or leave management data in the hands of DPOs.
